Liks Ice Cream: 2039 E. 13th Ave (13th and Vine)

Many people believe that one can tell how good an ice cream shop is simply by looking how long the line of customers is. Anyone who has passed by Liks Ice Cream (2039 E. 13th Ave) on a warm night (or many cold ones, too!) has seen the line extending out the door all the way to the street corner. Why? This ice cream is Good!

Liks boasts over 300 flavors of homemade ice cream, with 32 flavors available at any given time. If you’re looking for typical ice cream flavors such as Vanilla, Chocolate, and Mint Chocolate-Chip, you can usually get them. But why order such typical flavors when you can get flavors such as Black Raspberry Cobbler, Maple Walnut, or Graham Cracker? The available flavors change every day, and where Coconut Peanut Brittle ice cream was yesterday may today be Spumoni (with pistachio, chocolate rum, and cherries), Jack Daniels Chocolate Chip, or, our favorite, Cheesman (with cheesecake, graham cracker and strawberry sauce).

As if the flavors weren’t enough of a reason to leave your computer at once to go get some ice cream, at Liks’ homemade ice cream only costs $2.45 for a single scoop, $3.14 for a double, and (though we don’t know how anyone would could a third scoop) $3.94 for a triple! We’re sold on Liks, as is Liks scooper Katie Ginther, telling The Good Life Denver, “People are happy when they come here. I never have to deal with angry customers, and I get to eat ice cream every day.” Sounds like a pretty Good job to us, too.
