Good Denver Events: Renegade Can Release Party and One-Year Anniversary

A delicious flight of beers from Renegade Brewing Co.

I’m going to go out on a very sturdy limb here and say that Renegade Brewing Company is the best new brewery in Denver.  I love going to Renegade and getting a tasting flight of every beer on the menu.  The beer is delicious, unique, and the tasting flights are very reasonably priced.

Apparently I’m not the only one who loves their beer.  5280 Magazine has selected Renegade as the Editor’s Choice for best new Denver brewery in its 2012 Top of the Town issue which hits the stands this week.  Once that issue is picked up by Denver readers, expect Renegade to get a lot more crowded.

There are two Good events involving Renegade this weekend to which you might consider going:

  • Up until now, the only way to get Renegade beer was to go to the brewery and get beer pulled from the tap.  That is now changing, though, as the brewery is beginning to can its beer.  To celebrate this significant milestone on the eve of the brewery’s one-year anniversary, Renegade will be having a can release party on Friday from 6-8pm at Denver Bicycle Cafe, and attendees will be the first people to ever sip the Ryeteous Ale (my favorite of Renegade’s brews) from a can.  Many years from now when Renegade is served at all the bars and is on the shelves of all the liquor stores, will you be able to say you were there the first time that Renegade beer was served in a can?
  • If you can’t make the can release party, consider heading to Renegade on Saturday from noon-10pm for their one-year anniversary party.  The brewery will be featuring several aged brews, and will have live music, food trucks, cupcakes, a photo booth, and more.
